GRB Entertainment has set a July 21 release for its first film, teen comedy “Bad Night,” with YouTube stars Lauren Luthringshausen and Jenn McAllister, Variety has learned exclusively.
“Bad Night” will be released through Vimeo on Demand. The cast includes Matt Walsh (“Veep”), June Diane Raphael (“Grace & Frankie”), Adam Pally (“The Mindy Project”), Jack McBrayer, Molly Ringwald and Casey Wilson (“SNL”).
Luthringshausen and McAllister play high school students who are mistaken for famous art thieves after getting into the wrong car during a field trip. The duo — better known online as LoveLaurenElizabeth and JennXPenn — has nearly 3 million YouTube subscribers and over 4 million followers on their social media platforms.
Chris and Nick Riedell directed from Daniel Kinno’s script. A.J. Tesler produced with Luthringshausen and McAllister. GRB president Gary R. Benz and Michael Branton are the exec producers.
The Riedell siblings created the YouTube film “Camp Takota.” GRB has previously produced “Intervention” on A&E, “Diagnose Me” for Discovery Life and “#redflag” for HLN.
