Momoa had been rumored previously to be in the dystopian drama.
Amirpour, winner of the Gotham Award for breakthrough director for her debut feature “A Girl Walks Home Along at Night,” signed on to direct in January, with Megan Ellison’s Annapurna Pictures and Vice teaming to produce.
Production begins in April in Los Angeles. Annapurna International plans to launch sales at Cannes.
“The Bad Batch” is a love story set in a Texas wasteland, but plot details are being kept under wraps. Ellison will produce alongside Vice’s Danny Gabai and Sina Sayyah.
Annapurna and Vice collaborated last year on marketing Harmony Korine’s “Spring Breakers.”
Carrey appeared most recently in “Dumb and Dumber To,” while Reeves starred in “John Wick.”
Waterhouse is a British model. Her credits include “Insurgent” and “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.” Luna directed and produced “Cesar Chavez.”
Momoa is set to appear as Aquaman in 2016’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.”
Reeves is repped by CAA. Carrey and Luna are repped by WME. Waterhouse is repped by CAA and Untitled Entertainment. Momoa is repped by APA and Link Entertainment.
