Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper Reunite in ‘Joy’ First Trailer

Jennifer Lawrence is far from joyous in the first trailer for her upcoming drama “Joy.”

The film reunites Lawrence and Bradley Cooper, marking their fourth collaboration together, and their third with writer-director David O. Russell and costar Robert De Niro.

The movie follows a family across four generations, focusing on the rags-to-riches story of a girl who overcomes insurmountable obstacles to become the founder of a family empire.

Cooper plays an executive at the Home Shopping Network who helps sell her products.

The film also stars Edgar Ramirez, Isabella Rossellini and Virginia Madsen.

“Joy” has an awards-season friendly bow of Christmas Day.

I love these two together. They have a really great on screen presence!

  2. Thomas says:

4th Oscar nomination for Jennifer Lawrence and maybe a win…So excited! Without her the Oscars are nothing.

  3. LOL says:

That O. Russell fella certainly knows how to put together a good movie trailer. Shame, though, that he doesn’t know how to put together a good film.

Do you live under a rock? The Fighter, Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle are all very good movies.

      • Everette says:

Honestly. I didn’t like any of those films. I think O. Russell is terribly overrated, although he gets good performances from his actors. The films themselves are weak. American Hustle was stupid as hell and Silver Linings was just plain boring. Good acting though.— I do give props to The Fighter, best of bunch, but still not that good, the acting carried that film, as it does with all his films. His storytelling is soft.

      • Guest says:

Just because you thought it was good doesn’t mean everyone has to agree.

  4. Stergios says:

Wow, this looks incredible!!! I wish I could watch it already. David O. Russell seems to have created another terrific character piece playing admirably with his beloved themes of love, family, power, survival and reinvention. As for Jennifer, what can I say anymore. The girl is perfection. She’s one of the very few actresses of her generation who seem to nail every single character they portray. There’s a rawness and an honesty to her acting that’s simply priceless. Second Oscar is probably on the way and deservedly so. Even in a mess like Serena, her performance is always stellar.

  5. stevenkovacs says:

David, Jennifer & Bradley reunited: AND Robert De Niro + Elisabeth Rohm!❤️👏🏼🏆

  6. Scott says:

Speaking for 3/4 of Twitter right now:

    Yawn.

  7. Iván el Terrible says:

The story of a woman who became the female version of Billy Mays just by inventing a mop. And critics think David O. Russell is a genius?
Things like this are the reason why Dustin Hoffman said what he said about movies few days ago.

    • emily says:

The movie is not about that, it’s about the growing up process, the journey of this woman towards success and the emotions, the obstacles she encounters. David O Russell is a great director. People who want to hate, will always find a way…very sad.

  8. Lance says:

Not again! 3 times for these guys, enough is enough!

    • Patrick says:

Your grandparents thought that Hepburn/Tracy, Bogart/Bacall, Lean/Guiness, Loy/Powell, worked together too much.

  9. BC says:

    It’s spelled Joy Mangano.

  10. Diego says:

I need to watch it right now!

  11. emily says:

This is amazing. 4th Oscar nomination for Jennifer Lawrence!

  12. Mantle Head says:

Why are we still using that song ‘Can’t always get…’, in 2016.. great trailer, but that song has to go…
