Jay Roach (“Recount”) will direct action-comedy “Mad Dogs” for Warner Bros. with “The Lego Movie” producer Dan Lin on board.

Wes Jones is adapting the script, based on the novel from “Six Days of the Condor” author James Grady.

“Mad Dogs,” published in 2006, centers on five deranged CIA killers who are forced to break out of an asylum after someone murders their psychiatrist and frames them for the deed.

Warner execs Jesse Ehrman and Nik Mavinkurve are overseeing the project.

Roach’s credits include “The Campaign,” “Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery,” “Meet the Parents” and “Trumbo,” starring Bryan Cranston as scriptwriter Dalton Trumbo.

Jones is repped by CAA and Circle of Confusion. Roach is repped by WME, Mosaic and Behr & Abramson.
