British actor Ian Hart has joined the cast of romantic comedy “Modern Life is Rubbish,” currently in production in London.

The Exchange is handling worldwide sales on the movie and introduced it to buyers at the American Film Market. The movie is financed by Piccadilly Pictures, Lipsync, Masnomis and the BFI Film Fund.

The cast includes Freya Mavor, Josh Whitehouse, Jessie Cave, Matt Milne and Will Merrick. “Modern Life is Rubbish” is produced by Dominic Norris of Serotonin Films and directed by Daniel Gill from Philip Gawthorne’s script.

Whitehouse plays a struggling musician who cannot let go of his vinyl collection and refuses to adapt to the world of smartphones and instant downloads. Mavor’s character has let go of her dream of designing album covers and has become a rising star at her advertising firm. As they make the difficult decision to separate, they start by splitting their prized music library.

Hart’s credits include “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” and “Finding Neverland.”
