Gaumont has acquired international sales rights to “The Wandering” (“Dans les bois”), a fantasy thriller that reunites “Valley of Love’s” helmer Guillaume Nicloux with that pic’s star Gerard Depardieu.
In “The Wandering,” Depardieu plays a hunter who takes his dog for a walk in the woods and gets completely lost. A few hours, he starts experiencing strange encounters with enigmatic creatures.
The chiller is produced by Sylvie Pialat’s Les Films du Worso and Jean-Baptiste Dupont and Cyril Colbeau-Justin’s LGM, the two outfits that also currently developing Nicloux’s Indochina-war set drama “Les confins du monde.” Audrey Bonnet also stars.
Gaumont is showing a promo reel at the AFM. The French company’s AFM slate includes WWII-set “A Bag of Marbles,” Omar-Sy starrer “Chocolat,” the ambitious toonpic “Ballerina” and “Courted,” for which French actor Fabrice Luchini won a prize at Locarno.
