The film begins its global launch on Wednesday in some international markets before hitting domestic sites and the majority of overseas markets on Friday.
“Furious 7’s” Wednesday premiere at Los Angeles’ TCL Chinese Theatre will also mark the U.S. launch of Imax’s laser projection system. The system incorporates the laser digital intellectual property exclusively licensed from Eastman Kodak and Barco.
Greg Foster, CEO of Imax Entertainment, said, “As the most action-packed ‘Fast and Furious’ installment yet, ‘Furious 7’ deserves to be seen in the most awe-inspiring and intense way possible across Imax screens worldwide.”
Variety reported this week that “Furious 7” is on pace to cross the finish line with $115 million in the U.S. this weekend, making franchise history and setting a new record for an April opening.
