Blumhouse Developing Rock-Climbing Movie ‘Free Fall’

Micro-budget specialist Blumhouse Prods. is developing the rock-climbing thriller “Free Fall,” with a script from Sean Finegan and Gregg Maxwell Parker.

Madhouse Entertainment is also producing. The story centers on a man who joins his estranged daughter on a mountain climb before their expedition is interrupted by a tragic accident and a storm.

Blumhouse’s Jason Blum (pictured) and Madhouse’s Adam Kolbrenner are producing. Blumhouse’s Couper Samuelson is exec producing.

The writers’ credits include “Getaway,” starring Ethan Hawke, Selena Gomez and Jon Voight. Blumhouse created the “Paranormal Activity,” “Insidious” and “Sinister” franchises along with producing “Whiplash.”

The writers are repped by Paradigm, Madhouse and attorney Larry Kopeikin.
