Fredrik Horn Akselsen’s “Blackhearts,” a Norwegian black metal music documentary, is launching a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo

“Blackhearts” is a feature-length doc following the journey of three extreme black metal fans from Iran, Colombia and Greece who travel with their bands to Norway, considered to be the birthplace black metal.

The crowdfunding campaign, set to wrap on Dec. 17, aims to raise $15,000 to finalizes the post-production of the doc.

Contributors will gain access to various perks such as an exec producer credit, a production share and a collection of items donated by members of bands including Mayhem, Darkthrone, Enslaved, Thorns, Satyricon, Emperor and Keep of Kalessin.

Christian Falch, who is producing for Gammaglimt, said the idea for the docu was to show the great impact Norwegian Black Metal has had on fans and musicians far away from Norway.

“We trying to explore what happens when this music and the ideology behind it meets with cultures that is very different from Norway. Even though (the characters) do not have much in common, they share the passion for black metal and the music have inspired them to a great degree in their lives,” added Falch.
