Eddie Murphy’s ‘Beverly Hills Cop 4’ Pulled From 2016 Release

Paramount has pulled the fourth installment of Eddie Murphy’s “Beverly Hills Cop” franchise out of its March 25, 2016, release date with no new date set.

Jerry Bruckheimer is producing and Brett Ratner has been attached to direct from a script by Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec (“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”). The story centers around Murphy’s Axel Foley character returning to his native Detroit.

The studio also announced that its untitled Bad Robot movie would be released on March 11.

The three previous “Beverly Hills Cop” films were released in 1984, 1987 and 1994. They grossed a combined $735 million worldwide.
