Circus Roads Films has acquired U.S. rights to romantic comedy “In Stereo,” starring Beau Garrett (“Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce”) and Micah Hauptman, Variety has learned exclusively.
“In Stereo” will be released July 3 in theaters in New York, Los Angeles, Austin, Dallas, Atlanta, New Orleans, San Francisco and Miami along with a simultaneous VOD release. The film will world premiere at the Dances with Films Festival in Los Angeles on May 30.
Producers are Danny Roth and Damiano Tucci. The film is the directorial debut of Mel Rodriguez III and also stars Aimee Mullins, Mario Cantone (“Sex and the City”), Maggie Geha and Melissa Bolona.
Garrett and Hauptman star as a couple who are perfect for each other but break up, resulting in their lives spiraling out of control. He plays an artist who self-destructs while dating an immature woman who sleeps with his best friend, as she endures a failing acting career and an eviction notice.
“In Stereo” includes songs by Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, Charles Bradley and the Menahan Street Band, and the Budos Band.
Hauptman stars as David Breashears in Universal’s upcoming “Everest.”
