The American Film Market has selected FilmNation’s Glen Basner, Cinetic Media’s John Sloss, Phoenix Pictures’ Mike Medavoy and China Film Co-production’s Miao Xiaotian as speakers in its festival conference.
The Orchard’s Paul Davidson and Broad Green Pictures’ Steve Nickerson have been selected to discuss the latest trends in VOD during the distribution conference.
The eight-day AFM in Santa Monica will open Nov. 4 for its 36th year. The market is one of the top events for independent sales activity along with Berlin, Cannes and the Toronto Film Festival.
Last year’s AFM drew 8,000 participants from more than 80 countries with 700 screenings.
AFM’s Roundtables event will start on Nov. 5 and the Conference Series begins the next day with conferences on finance, pitching, production, distribution and two new additions — the China Conference and the Festival Conference. The new Festival Focus series begin on Nov. 7.
