XLrator Media has acquired U.S. distribution rights to the fantasy thriller “The Curse of Sleeping Beauty” from Bleiberg Entertainment for release in 2016.

The two companies will develop and co-produce an episodic series based on the film.

Bleiberg Entertainment and Red Granite International subsidiary Blue Box International are representing the international sales rights at the American Film Market.

“The Curse of Sleeping Beauty” stars Ethan Peck (“Eden”), India Eisley  (“The Secret Life of the American Teenager”), Natalie Hall (“True Blood’) and Bruce Davison (“X-Men”). The film was written and directed by Pearry Teo and produced by Teo and Ehud Bleiberg, inspired by a Brothers Grimm story.

The story is set in an ancestral mansion that contains an ancient curse. Peck’s charater teams with an ambitious local realtor (played by Hall) and paranormal cleric (Davison) to unravel the mystery of the house, while struggling to awaken a beautiful young woman who’s held captive by the curse.
