TrustNordisk Sells Cannes’ Directors Fortnight Pic ‘The Here After’ to U.K., Korea

PARIS– Scandi house TrustNordisk closed a bunch of territories on Swedish helmer Magnus von Horn’s feature debut “The Here After,” which world premiered at Cannes’ Directors Fortnight.

Sales closed at Cannes include the U.K. (Soda Pictures) and Korea (Atnine Film Co.). Nour Films will distribute the movie in France.

The drama follows John, a man who returns to his small town hoping to start a new life after serving time in prison. Feeling abandoned by his former friends, John loses hope and decides to confront his past.

”Rarely have we seen so strong reactions from festivals like on ‘The Here After.’ The sales underline that Magnus has succeeded in finding a vibe and tone in this film with great relevance for the international audience.” says Rikke Ennis, TrustNordisk CEO.

Pic is produced by Mariusz Włodarski for Lava Films and Madeleine Ekman for Zentropa International Sweden, co-produced by Sophie Erbs and Cinema Defacto.

Nordisk Film Sweden and Gutek Film Poland will distribute the film in Sweden and Poland, respectively.
