Running Oct. 16-17, which coincides with this year’s 48th Sitges Intl. Film Festival of Catalonia, the Sitges U.S. Tour has five movies screening at the Sitges Fest also playing locations owned by Theaters at Mall of America in several U.S. cities. The films chosen have not been released in the U.S.
“Movies will reflect the essence and profile that set Sitges apart as the top fantastic film festival in the world,” its organizers explained at Cannes.
First up: “The Incident,” the feature debut of Mexico’s Isaac Ezban, and a Shoreline U.S. pickup. Pic weaves two parallel stories about characters trapped in illogical endless spaces. “The Incident,” screening as a work in progress at Blood Window’s Midnight Galas in Cannes 2014, had its European premiere at Sitges in 2014.
