Tara Yin has been appointed as general manager of the new Beijing office of Paramount Pictures.
Yin was previously senior manager at Imax China, and before that was marketing and advertising head for Wanda Cinema Line.
“In this incredibly exciting market, we realize the need to be headquartered in Beijing near our local colleagues,” said Nic Crawley, president of international marketing & distribution, Paramount Pictures. “I am very excited that Tara has joined us to lead our soon-to-be completed China team. Her experience is exactly what we need to further our business in China.”
In April, Paramount Pictures announced that it was expanding its office in China and shifting its business operations from Shanghai to Beijing, the center of film production, distribution and marketing in China.
Paramount has enjoyed particular success in China with its “Transformers” franchise, the last of which was partially filmed in Hong Kong.
