Two-time Emmy winner Bobby Cannavale, (“Nurse Jackie,” “Boardwalk Empire”) and “Damages” actress Rose Byrne, coupled since 2012, have splashed out $2.15 million for a three-story townhouse property on a tree-lined street in Brooklyn’s historic Boerum Hill hood. The sellers, per property records, were another showbiz couple, Annie Parisse and Paul Spark, both of whom have appeared on-screen with Mister Cannavale.
Should they choose, the comely couple, who previously leased a pricy two-bedroom apartment in the East Village, can offset their mortgage and expenses by renting out the ground floor apartment of the two-unit building. According to digital listings, the one-bedroom and one-bath ground floor unit has an open plan living, dining and kitchen space, exclusive access to laundry facilities in the basement, and a tiny terrace that steps down to a deep garden. Based on similar rentals in the neighborhood, we guesstimate the couple could reasonably expect to get upwards of $2,500 per month. The upper level duplex unit incorporates the high-ceiled parlor floor that’s been opened up into a loft-like combination living/dining space with thin strip wood floors, whitewashed exposed brick walls, and a bank of floor-to-ceiling built-in bookshelves. The rear end of the parlor floor contains an upgraded and nearly all-white center island kitchen that opens to a private garden-view deck and there’s a laundry nook and a convenient half bathroom that inconveniently opens directly into the kitchen. Two bedrooms on the upper level — both with exposed beam ceiling, one that’s dividable into two cell-sized bedrooms, according to listing descriptions, and the other with a wood-burning fireplace — share a skylight-lit landing and pint-sized hall bathroom.
