GloZell (her actual given name) was one of three YouTube stars invited to the White House to interview President Obama following his State of the Union address this year. She also appeared in “The Wedding Ringer,” which starred Kevin Hart, in a small part.
“This has been such an incredibly successful year with unbelievable experiences, and I am very excited to be working with Collective Digital Studio to create new content to boost my channel and deliver more laughs for diverse audiences,” Green said in a prepared statement.
GloZell Green — who typically sports an unmistakable shade of green lipstick — shares comedic stories about her life and song parodies on her YouTube channel. (She’s dubbed herself “Queen of YouTube,” though that apparently would be more about style than viewership numbers.) To date, she has worked with consumer brands including Ford, Crocs and Universal Studios Orlando.
“GloZell’s vivacious personality has mass appeal and has led to her building a strong audience and fan base,” said CDS president Dan Weinstein. “We look forward to showcasing her unique and fearless sense of humor to even bigger audiences with new and original content.”
CDS’ lineup of YouTube talent also includes Rhett & Link, Epic Meal Time and Freddie Wong. Last week, the digital studio announced a pact with Duff Goldman, a celebrity baker and Food Network star, to launch a YouTube channel.
