Apple Music is officially coming to internet-connected loudspeakers from Sonos later this month: Sonos announced Monday that it will start beta testing Apple Music support for its loudspeakers on December 15. This will include Beats1, Apple’s live internet radio station.

Apple Music was absent from Sonos when the service launched this summer, but both companies announced soon after that they were working on bringing the music subscription service to Sonos speakers. On Monday, Sonos explained how users can get access: Existing Sonos owners have to apply to become part of the public beta test to start streaming Apple Music by December 15. Sonos didn’t say when it intends to make Apple Music available to everyone.

Sonos support fills an important gap for Apple Music: The music subscription service launched with a mobile-centric approach, in part because Apple doesn’t have its own multi-room audio solution. Apple-owned Beats Music worked on Wifi-connected speakers for some time, but the project was scrapped after the acquisition through Apple.
