Machinima, a digital media company focused on reaching young male audiences on YouTube and other platforms, has recruited James Glasscock as senior VP of strategy and business development.
Glasscock, who hails from Playboy’s TV division, will manage Machinima’s relationships with strategic platform partners and coordinate internal and external resources to develop and launch Machinima’s strategic initiatives.
Machinima’s latest senior-level hire comes after Machinima named digital-media exec Jamie Weissenborn to a newly created role as chief revenue officer last week.
“With new social-video platforms, technologies and monetization opportunities emerging daily, Machinima needs an entrepreneurial executive whose experience straddles digital and traditional media to lead our initiatives,” Machinima CEO Chad Gutstein said in a statement. “James has not only demonstrated strategic dealmaking expertise but the excellence in operational execution needed to make our partnerships really work.”
Most recently, Glasscock was senior VP of strategy planning and operations at Playboy Plus Entertainment, which runs Playboy Television. Prior to Playboy, Glasscock ran his own consulting business, Front Row Ventures; was COO and CFO at Synergy Beverages for three years; and spent three years at Turner Broadcasting as director of digital business development.
