In the scene, a casual poker party gets hostile when no one believes Tompkins’ character can give up red meat for his New Years resolution — despite others’ goals to create a new smart phone or become a major movie director.
“W/ Bob & David” premieres Nov. 13 on Netflix. It is in the same style of the comedians’ much-beloved 1990s HBO sketch show, “Mr. Show With Bob and David,” and includes references to that series (as evident by the end of this sketch when it’s learned that Odenkirk is Pope Jonah Abromowitz, the world’s first elected freelance Pope).
The limited series combines taped segments and live in-studio sketches, and consists of four half-hour episodes and an hour-long “making of” special. Other guest stars include Jill Talley, Jay Johnston, John Ennis and Brian Posehn.
