Technicolor announced Friday Luis Martinez Amago as president of its Connected Home division for North America. Martinez Amago will work on the division’s position in the cable, telecom, satellite and OTT markets.
Martinez Amago comes to Technicolor after 27 years at Alcatel-Lucent. Technicolor and Alcatel-Lucent have a close relationship, as some members of Technicolor’s board of directors work for Alcatel-Lucent. Technicolor CEO Frederic Rose, who helped get Technicolor out of debt, previously held various positions at Alcatel-Lucent and was a member of their executive committee. The deputy CEO and president of Connected Home, Michel Rahier, was executive vice president of operations and a member of the management committee at Alcatel-Lucent. Martinez Amago’s appointment is expected to further tighten the bond between the two companies.
Technicolor celebrated its 100th anniversary last fall.
