Michael Winship is running unopposed for a fifth two-year term as president of the Writers Guild of America East.

The WGA East made the announcement Tuesday. WGA East secretary-treasurer Bob Schneider and VP Jeremy Pikser are also running unopposed.

Voting will begin among the 4,000 WGA East members on Aug. 26 with results to be announced Sept. 18.

The guild also announced 16 candidates for the six open freelance seats including incumbents Henry Bean, Bonnie Datt, Susan Kim and Courtney Simon. The other candidates are Frank Pugliese, Kenneth Lin,  Richard Vetere, Andrea Ciannavei, Lucy Alibar, Maria Agui Carter, Bill Scheft, Marygrace O’Shea, Timothy Michael Cooper, David Angelo, Marin Gazzaniga and Tom Jennings.

Incumbents Sue Brown and Phil Pilato are seeking re-election for the three staff seats, with John Karalis, Bill Deane and David Keller also running.

The New York-based WGA East jointly negotiates the master contract covering feature film and TV work with the WGA West. The current pact expires on May 1, 2017.

Winship, a senior writer for “Bill Moyers Journal” and “Moyers and Company,” won his first term in 2007 — less than two months before the 100-day WGA strike began. He also ran unopposed in 2013.
