UPDATED: The CAA headquarters building in Century City has been reopened after being evacuated for several hours due to the Los Angeles Police Department’s bomb squad investigating a suspicious package delivered the offices.
The entire building received instructions to evacuate after authorities received word that a package had been delivered at about 1:30 p.m. to the offices of Deutsche Bank on the ninth floor of the building at 2000 Avenue of the Stars.
The building was reopened at 8:10 p.m. Wednesday after LAPD investigators determined that the package was not a bomb.
Lt. John Jenal, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson, said officers were informed that the package had a suspicious odor. He also said the FedEx package was not ticking and had no wires attached.
Most CAA employees left the area by late afternoon.
CAA relocated to Century City from Beverly Hills in 2007. The building includes a Comerica Bank branch, law firm offices and several consulates.
