LONDON — Iain Smith, executive producer on “Mad Max: Fury Road” and chairman of the British Film Commission, will deliver the opening speech at the Focus Summit, an event that focuses on developments in the media landscape.
Other keynote speakers at the summit, which takes place on Dec. 15 in London, include Michael Katz, VP international programming and planning at A&E Networks, and Patrick Collister, lead creative at Google’s The Zoo.
The event, which will follow themes of convergence, collaboration and creativity, will seek to understanding the impact of “second screeners” on the creative process; look at the different types of creative partnerships that now exist; examine the changing relationship with today’s audience; and ask how producers are handling the transition. It will also see how much crossover between the industries really exists, and talk about the expanding definition of content and the insatiable demand for it.
Among participants in the debates will be Sara Geater, chief operating officer of All3Media, producer Olivier Kaempfer of Parkville Pictures, Caroline Torrance, head of international scripted at Zodiak Rights, and Steve Davies, CEO of the Advertising Producers Association.
