Incentives Scorecard: Netherlands Offers Hefty 30% Grant to Lure Productions

Netherlands Film Production Tax Credits
Variety

Aside from inimitable locations, good infrastructure and experienced English-speaking crews, the Netherlands offers filmmakers a generous 30% grant — a production incentive launched in May 2014. The rebate aims to reinforce the competitive position of the Dutch film industry. The annual cap available to feature films, animation and documentaries was generously funded at $27.7 million, with at least 70% of that for international co-productions. Projects must provide a distribution guarantee for theatrical release in the Netherlands, and at least 50% of the budget should be in place upon submitting the application.
