HGTV Preps New Series With Ellen Degeneres, Property Brothers

The expansion of HGTV’s “fantasy destination” series continued with September’s launch of “Lakefront Bargain Hunt,” and the network has its sights set on adding more shows like “Fixer Upper” and “Flip or Flop” that start to blur the line between home improvement and reality shows as they follow real families in the renovation business.

“In 2015 we’re launching about 15 different family-focused series,” says HGTV president Kathleen Finch. Bearing in mind that a home is more than an investment, she adds, “We’ve really taken a leap with our storytelling to be more reflective of that. It’s not just about the bricks and mortar. It’s really about the life that’s lived in a home.”
