The singer and actress of Disney fame, Zendaya (“Shake It Up,” “Dancing with the Stars”), has signed on to headline and co-produce another show from the Mouse House titled, “K.C. Undercover.”
The spy comedy follows K.C. Cooper, a high school math genius who’s training to be an undercover super spy, just like her parents. Each episode finds the Coopers balancing typical family issues while performing undercover missions to protect the country.
“K.C. Undercover” will be exec produced by Rob Lotterstein who also worked with Zendaya on “Shake It Up.”
“Zendaya and Rob Lotterstein are a powerhouse combination to produce Disney Channel’s next action-driven sitcom,” said exec VP of original programming Adam Bonnett in a statement. “This show has all of the Disney Channel attributes – family, friendship, humor and heart all from the point of view of an incredibly talented and relatable teenage girl.”
“K.C. Undercover” will begin production this summer in Los Angeles.
