Viola Davis Star ABC Pilot 'How

Viola Davis is set to star in the ABC drama pilot “How to Get Away with Murder,” from Shonda Rhimes’ ABC Studios-based banner.

Landing the Oscar-nommed actress is a coup for the Alphabet. “Murder” revolves around a mysterious law professor and a group of students who become entangled in a murder plot.

Pete Nowalk penned the pilot and exec produces with Rhimes and Shondaland’s Besty Beers. Nowalk is a alum of Rhimes’ ABC series “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Scandal.”

Davis has earned two Oscar noms in the past five years, a supporting bid for her work in 2009’s “Doubt” and a lead actress mention for 2011’s “The Help.”

Before her feature career took off, Davis co-starred in the short-lived CBS drama “Century City.”

  2. Joyce Tyler says:

Sounds like a Swedish TV series from 2007/8 called Oskyldigt Domd starring Mikael Persbrandt as the mysterious law professor and Leonardo Terfelt, Helena Af Sandeberg, Francisco Sobrado, and Sofia Ledarp as his students.
