USA Taps British Director S.J. Clarkson for Tim Kring-Gideon Raff Drama ‘DIG’

USA Network is giving the prestige treatment to its upcoming six-episode series “DIG,” from “Heroes” creator Tim Kring and “Homeland” creator Gideon Raff.

British helmer S.J. Clarkson (pictured) has signed on to direct the first episode of the actioner that revolves around the hunt by an FBI agent (played by Jason Isaacs) for a religious artifact with great import beyond its antique status. Along the way he manages to become a suspect in a murder case

Clarkson’s resume includes high-end Brit TV fare including “Whitechapel,” the original “Life of Mars” and “Mistresses” (which she co-created). She’s also done a slew of Yank series including “Heroes,” “Dexter,” “House,” “Ugly Betty” and “Smash.”

“DIG,” from Israeli powerhouse Keshet, is to lense in Israel and other overseas locations for premiere late this year on USA.
