Playing House TV Review on USA

USA Network’s latest original comedy series, “Playing House,” will bow April 29.

The show will open at 10 p.m. with back-to-back episodes, following reruns of “Modern Family,” and settle into its regular 10 p.m. slot on May 6.

“House” stars Jessica St. Clair and Lennon Parham as friends who move in together when one of them becomes pregnant.

The series is part of USA Network’s push to diversify its original series lineup with half-hour shows. The cabler’s pricey purchase of “Modern Family” reruns is meant to provide a foundation for its original laffers.

The first of USA’s new comedies, “Sirens,” premieres March 6.
