‘The Flash,’ ‘Walking Dead’ Top October Social Media TV Buzz

The Flash Walking Dead Social

Research firm Way to Blue has gathered numbers from the first two weeks of October to illustrate the social buzz behind fall’s new shows.

Not surprisingly, topping the list in both overall buzz and intent-to-view is CW’s “The Flash,” starring Grant Gustin.  The superhero spin-off of “Arrow” topped all three of NBC’s new comedies combined in generating the most hype via social media ahead of its premiere.

Showtime’s newest drama “The Affair” also finds itself ranked among new series, in between ABC’s family laffer “Cristela,” and CBS’s thriller “Stalker.”

Among returning series topping the social media ladder are ratings juggernauts “The Walking Dead” and “American Horror Story,” followed swiftly by three CW series, likely banking on their younger audience for social chatter.

  1. Duke says:

Are we sure “the Flash” wasn’t helped just a little bit by a feature film of the same name being part of a buzzed about announcement last week?

    • Tracy Emert says:

Nah, the buzz for ‘The Flash’ (tv series) has been huge for many months now and even more so since it premiered a few weeks ago. The buzz for the movie has already dwindled. Probably because it’s release date is nearly 4 years from now.
