Sony Pictures TV vet Jake Rose has joined Skydance Television as exec VP of production.
Rose will oversee all production for the company, which is revving a slate of comedy and drama series as well as longform fare. Skydance TV at present is in production on its first TV series, WGN America’s period drama “Manhattan,” set to bow in July.
Rose will report to Skydance TV president Marcy Ross.
Rose’s “extensive experience in the television space will be a great addition to our company and is exactly what we need to continue Skydance’s growth,” said Skydance topper David Ellison. “I couldn’t ask for a more creative, collaborative partner than Jake,” Ross said.
Rose spent the past 10 years at Sony, overseeing production for its movies and miniseries division. He worked on projects ranging from History’s “Hatfields and the McCoys” to Lifetime’s “Steel Magnolias.” Earlier in his career, Rose worked as a producer of feature films and as an exec at Walt Disney Studios.
