In honor of gay pride month, Showtime is bringing back its series “Queer as Folk” and “The L Word” and will air every season of both skeins on Showtime Showcase from June through November.

Back-to-back episodes of both series will air weeknights at 8 p.m. from June 2 through June 30, and then exclusively on Thursday nights from July 3 through Nov. 13. All five seasons of “Queer as Folk” and the complete six seasons of “The L Word” will also be available via Showtime On Demand and Showtime Anytime beginning this summer.

“Queer as Folk,” developed for American TV by Ron Cowen and Daniel Lipman, centered on a group of young gay men and lesbians living in Pittsburgh, Pa. “The L Word,” from creators Ilene Chaiken, Kathy Greenberg and Michele Abbott, depicted the lives of lesbian couples and their friends in Los Angeles.

Both skeins were honored by the GLAAD Media Awards as outstanding drama series.

“The L Word’s” Chaiken will also premiere her new documentary on Showtime this summer.

Yes, without the original and iconic music. The awful replacement stuff is shameful. Cheap move, Showtime! Very, very cheap!

  2. Neal says:

Unfortunately the Showtime re-airing is the crappy Netflix version with the crappy replacement music rather than the classic original music that aired back in the day. My suggestion, buy, rent or steal the DVDs and get the real experience as it was meant to be seen!

  3. Regina says:

I am so ready for it to come back on. Just to see Brain and Justin blossm at the end was wonderful. I love them two and on the L word seeing how papa introduced her best friend and she had to go back to war leaving her love made me cry.

I’m w/adam, wish I could get this on blu-ray (MUST have original music)!!

Anna: you can see Gale Harold’s hair at the bottom…BAD crop Variety!!

QAF streams on netflix, however, not with the original music, so, if you have showtime channel, this is a way to get it as it aired…with some great tracks!

  9. Anna says:

A picture of QAF without Gale Harold (Brian Kinney) it’s like a spring without flowers. Change it!

  10. adam says:
