Showtime has ordered 12-episode new seasons of both “Shameless” and “House of Lies,” the pay cable net announced today. Renewals will take “Shameless” to its fifth season, and “House of Lies” to its fourth.
Showtime will debut the new seasons in 2015.
As the William H. Macy-starrer heads through its fourth run, “Shameless” is currently pacing to see its highest-rated season yet. Drama averages 5.5 million weekly viewers across platforms, up 8% versus last season.
Meanwhile, “House of Lies” is averaging 3 million weekly viewers across platforms during its third season, recently nabbing its highest-rated telecast this season last week. Comedy also recently earned series star Don Cheadle an Emmy nom in the 2013 kudos race.
