Ovation’s “Song by Song” is getting an encore this season with the addition of two more blocks of its documentary music series.

The upcoming docs for the series will take a look at singer Sheryl Crow, the members of the rock band Blondie, and electric violinist/YouTube sensation Lindsey Stirling.

The first two seasons of the doc, which began in 2012, had programs that recounted the lives of country singers Johnny Cash and Dolly Parton.

Ovation execs said for its upcoming season, “Song by Song” will continue to let music drive the storytelling.

“The series uses the featured artists’ hit songs to tell the story of what was happening at that time in their lives, what inspired them to write the music and how their songs impacted their careers and popular culture,” Scott Woodward, senior vice president of programming and production at Ovation, said.

Episodes are produced by Ovation in partnership with TH Entertainment, LLC.

The series will air in October, beginning with the episode focusing on Crow.
