Shed Media U.S. Names John Hesling Senior Vice Prez, Programming

Shed Media U.S. has appointed John Hesling senior vice president of programming, the unscripted production company announced today.

Hesling arrives at the shingle following a tenure at BBC Worldwide Prods. Los Angeles, where he exec produced History’s “Top Gear’ and served as senior v.p. of programming. During his time at BBC, Hesling helped launch shows including “Dragons’ Den,” “Great American Road Trip” and “One Week to Save Your Marriage.”

“John brings an incredible wealth of experience as both a showrunner and an executive, and has the respect of the creative community,” said Pam Healey, g.m. of Shed Media U.S. “His masterful abilities as a storyteller across a variety of genres — from entertainment to male-skewing programming — have allowed him to successfully adapt many international formats here in the U.S. John’s skills and relationships perfectly complement the talented team here at Shed, and I am so excited to be working with him.”

The senior vice prez role at Shed Media U.S. is newly created. Shed Media U.S. produces reality shows including “The Real Housewives of New York,” “Basketball Wives Los Angeles,” and “Who Do You Think You Are?”

Shed Media U.S. is the Stateside production arm of Shed Media Group, which is majority owned by Warner Bros. TV Group.
