TNT has given a series order to “Agent X,” the secret agent action-drama starring Jeff Hephner, Sharon Stone and Gerald McRaney with a pilot penned by “The Bourne Identity’s” William Blake Herron.

The show focuses on a top secret agent named John Case (Hephner) who is trained and ready to serve, deployed only at the careful discretion of the vice president. Stone plays the first female vice president of the United States, Natalie Maccabee, who pledges to protect the country “against all enemies, foreign and domestic.” McRaney plays Malcolm Millar, the chief steward of the vice president’s residence and the keeper of the mansion’s many secrets.

“‘Agent X’ is a perfect fit for TNT’s expanding lineup of action-dramas,” said Lillah McCarthy, senior vice president of TNT and TBS Original Productions. “It’s a slick, high-energy thrill-ride with lots of twists and turns, big action sequences and kick-ass stunts. And at the center of it all, we have an incredible cast led by Jeff Hephner, Sharon Stone and Gerald McRaney.”

The project is being produced by TNT Originals in association with Beacon Pictures, with Armyan Bernstein and Stone serving as executive producers. Herron will also exec produce. The pilot was directed by Peter O’Fallon.

TNT has ordered 10 episodes for the first season of the series, with plans to launch in the second half of 2015.

I thought TNT wanted to skew younger? Putting a series with a bunch of 70 years olds on probably isn’t going to draw that demo. That’s a nicely lit photo of Sharon and she looks great for a woman in her 60s but she doesn’t really look like she is photographed here. She should be playing a younger heroine’s mom not the main lead. Gerald McRaney is probably in his 80s! TNT continues to make decisions that cause it’s demo to tank, it’s the network for grandparents. Nothing against older people but the fact is advertisers target younger viewers not people older than 49.

Sounds like 24 where Jack Bauer works for the President.

Sharon Stone is still insanely gorgeous. She can sit in my face anytime.
