‘Saturday Night Live’ Names New ‘Weekend Update’ Co-Anchor

Colin Jost will take Seth Meyers’ place at the “Weekend Update” desk for “Saturday Night Live” when Meyers leaves the show to begin hosting “Late Night.”

Jost, who is also the show’s head writer, will join Cecily Strong beginning March 1.

Jost has been on the writing staff at “SNL” since 2005, and has been head writer since 2012.

    Great writing and he seems like a nice dude, but hey young comics, don’t stand there after a punchline and milk it til you get your applause break. It’s unseemly. Hope he doesn’t pull that on Weekend Update, it could get old fast.

    They should replace Cecily Strong with Kate McKinnon; McKinnon’s a seriously funny lady – one of the few bright lights SNL has left.

    Now get rid of Cecily. I used to watch SNL for the weekend update. when they added Cecily, I stopped watching altogether.

      I am SOOO with you. She does not appear to understand what she is reading. Plus she mumbles and flubs. Too many funny people out there to pick her to do this task.
