Recently reinstated co-host of “The View” Rosie O’Donnell will return to guest star on additional episodes of ABC Family’s “The Fosters,” the network announced Monday.

O’Donnell will maintain her role of Rita Hendricks from the first season in two upcoming episodes of the show’s second season, set to air in early 2015. Hendricks is described as a “tough yet compassionate foster care group home caregiver” in the series, which follows Stef (Teri Polo) and Lena Adams Foster (Sherri Saum) as they build a family around Stef’s biological son and four adopted children.

The GLAAD Media Award-winning show from Bradley Bredeweg and Peter Paige is executive produced by Jennifer Lopez, and is currently on hiatus in its second season. It will return to air at 8 p.m. on Dec. 8 on ABC Family.

  1. Candy says:

Rosie is a great person. I love her on “The Fosters” and will miss seeing her on “The View”. Hope to see you more on “Fosters”. You are a kind, open-hearted person, and a talented person.

  2. I just wish that the writer will developed the character so we learn something about her background. Is her character’s parent alive and well?

  3. I alwasy liked Rosie ODonald, even before she came out, she does not preach, gives good advise and has made a good home for a lot of kids, and fights for kids in trouble and homeless all the time. Give credit where credit is due. she is one of a kind and I’m happy she is. And I’m a great grandmother at age 78 so I think the lesbian thing is her business and no one else’s.

  4. John says:

Gross, she’s a loud mouth & she is so damn irritating how she is hung up on gay/lesbian BS..who cares if someone’s gay, shut up about it. I will avoid anything her fat head is in like the plague. That’s what I think about her being in our faces again. barf!

  7. bowielover62 says:

I really enjoy Rosie’s character on the show. She really works well with the girls and I would like to see more of that side of the show.

  8. I can’t wait until to see Rosie O’Donnell on the Foster. It will be interested to see how her character will be developed each time she guest star. I was hopping that she will become a regular on the series.
