Report: Warner Bros. In Talks To Acquire Dutch TV Group Eyeworks

Eyeworks is a leading producer of reality formats, including "Celebrity Splash," "The Bigger Loser" and "Beat the Blondes."

PARIS– Warner Bros. in reportedly in discussions to acquire Amsterdam-based TV group Eyeworks, the producer of such popular formats as “Celebrity Splash,” “The Bigger Loser” and “Beat the Blondes.”

The discussions, first reported by TBI, have yet to be confirmed by Warner Bros. and Eyeworks.

Looking to expand its geographical footprint across Europe, Warner Bros. previously made a bid to acquire Endemol, another Dutch company whose credits include “Deal or No Deal” and “Big Brother,” in late 2011.

Co-founded by former Endemol chief Joop van den Ende and Reinout Oerlemans in 2001, Eyeworks hired Goldman Sachs back in 2011 to assess the value of the outfit and explored several acquisition offers; but eventually decided to remain independent.

Eyeworks operates in Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Spain and Portugal and the U.S..
