‘Once Upon a Time’ Finds Its Elsa in Georgina Haig

Once Upon a Time” has found its Elsa in “Fringe” alum Georgina Haig, Variety has confirmed.

Haig will play “Frozen’s” ice queen in season four of the ABC fantasy, joining previously announced Elizabeth Lail as Elsa’s sister Anna and “Greek” veteran Scott Michael Foster as her love interest, Kristoff.

The “Frozen” characters will reportedly join the “Once” storyline following the events of the hit Disney movie, after Elsa has frozen her kingdom with an eternal winter and discovered that love is the best way to control her powers.

Haig currently appears on CBS’ “Reckless,” which has finished filming its 13-episode order, and is best known for playing Peter and Olivia’s daughter, Etta, on Fox’s cult sci-fi series “Fringe.”

Fans got their first glimpse of “Frozen’s” Elsa on “Once Upon a Time” in the season three finale, which introduced the powerful ruler of Arendelle in the episode’s closing moments, in which she was shown only from behind.

Haig is represented by Paradigm.

  1. Ginnie says:

The producer or whoever told Anna Faith that the only reason she didn’t get the part was because she is too young. Age should not be a factor when choosing an actress.

  2. I would have chosen Dakota Fanning or agree with others who say Brittany Snow. This chick better turn out awesome because Elsa’s character is not to be messed with. -.-

  3. Joe says:

Don’t know about her acting chops, but she doesn’t look a thing like Elsa.

  4. Dale says:

And yes Anna Faith is an aspiring actress and a far better choice. At least she looks the part

  5. Dale says:

Once Upon a Time should have chosen Anna Faith. Far better choice

  6. itmeansnoworries says:

I hope while this is going on Disney is cracking ideas for a Frozen 2. Hopefully they’ve still got a head on their shoulders and make the PERFECT storyline that really pays homage to how amazing the original movie is. Don’t let us down, Disney!

  7. betsy Lutkus says:

    YAY !!!!

  8. Kristian says:

It doesn’t matter how much she looks like her, the acting has to be fit for the part. plus, make up is a wonderful thing.

  9. Layal says:

I don’t see it. It doesn’t move me. They could find someone who matches more.

  10. Eric says:

My first choice would’ve been Brittany Snow. She would’ve made a great Elsa.

  11. Zack says:

Wow. Terrible choice here. She looks nothing like Elsa. Anna Faith should have been the one chosen for this part. Really stupid move for the show.

  12. Mychal says:

I think Anna faith should have got the role

  13. Angela says:

What does the actress look like. when are you gonna post a photo.

  14. Joy says:

Nice of you to show a picture….

  15. Quinn says:

Once upon a time is about putting a darker spin on fairytales. There is NOTHING dark about a CGI snowman.

    • ChristaJeanne says:

They aren’t including the CGI snowman, if that helps. Too expensive.

    • Hey says:

Frozen was originally taken from a dark fairy tale. Might want to learn the back stories, besides Disney always takes dark stories and turns them to that of love and child’s fiction

  16. Maddisen says:

I think they should put Olaf in Once Upon a Time. I think it would make the show even more interesting since Olaf is a lot of people’s favorite character!

    • ChristaJeanne says:

The producers have already said they won’t include Olaf – the CGI is cost prohibitive for a TV series.

  17. Andie says:

    She’ll make a perfect Elsa!!!

  18. Lori Kelly says:

I was thinking the same thing. I googled her. Cute, but Amanda Seyfried would have been a better choice.

  19. Leslie says:

Would’ve been helpful if you included a photo of Georgina Haig. I clicked the link and I’m not sure if she’s that woman holding the face of that black haired guy.
