NBC is developing a project with writer Jenny Bicks and director David Frankel that is billed as a sequel to “Marley & Me,” the best-selling novel and 2008 feature starring Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston.

“Marley & Me,” written by John Grogan, told the tear-jerking story of a family’s experience with a high-maintenance dog. The half-hour TV version from 20th Century Fox TV, is designed to pick up a few years after the movie’s end when the family encounters a new dog, according to Deadline.

Frankel, who helmed the successful Fox 2000 feature, is on board as an exec producer with Bicks along with Karen Rosenfelt, producer of the pic.

I’ve read the book and seen the movie. Not sure about a “sequel” tv series. And is John Grogan okay with the project?

  2. druxmanworks says:

I avoided seeing the movie and I will definitely not watch any TV series.
