Nat Geo Wild is set to debut two summer specials, the two-hour “Kingdom of the Apes” documentary in July and the one-hour “Giant Pandas” special in August.
“Kingdom of the Apes” will feature world-renowned primatologist Jane Goodall, who will introduce the doc, set to launch globally. The doc spotlights chimpanzees from Tanzania’s Gombe Stream National Park, where Goodall did her famous work studying the personalities of chimps and the complexities of their communities.
Doc is produced by National Geographic Television for Nat Geo Wild. Karen Bass is exec producer for National Geographic Television. Ashley Hoppin is exec producer for Nat Geo Wild.
“Giant Pandas,” which will launch in globally in September, takes viewers inside the process of breeding a panda in captivity, a crucial effort given recent decimation of panda populations. Show is produced by Oxford Scientific Films Production for Nat Geo Wild. Exec producers are Jeremy Bradshaw and Clare Birks. Producer is Caroline Hawkins.
