MTV Taps Nickelodeon Alum Jane Gould to Head Research

After 15 years with Nickelodeon, Jane Gould is moving to MTV to head its research division.

As senior VP of consumer insights and research, Gould will oversee all measurement and audience-related studies for MTV, MTV2, MTVU and MTV.com. She previously spearheaded the same activities for Nickelodeon Group.

She reports to MTV prexy Stephen Friedman.

“With Jane’s extensive experience and her ability to tease out the elements that could truly explode in culture, she’s the perfect person to join MTV as the brand continues its course of constant evolution,” he said.

Gould joined Nickelodeon’s U.S. operation in 1999 after working for the kidvid giant in Australia. Before that, she ran her own research consulting shingle, Looking Glass Insights, in Oz.
