‘Money Pit’ Remake Part of NBC Pilot Orders

NBC has given pilot orders to multi-camera comedies “The Money Pit,” which is inspired by the Tom Hanks-Shelley Long film, and “The Fifth Wheel” from the “S**t People In L.A” viral video creators.

“The Money Pit,” about a newlywed couple who struggles with romance and housing remodels, comes from Amblin Television and Universal Television and is adapted by “The Office’s” Justin Spitzer. He is executive producing with Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank of Amblin TV.

Scribes Heidi Niedermeyer and Elena Crevello’s “Fifth Wheel” is a 20-something ensemble comedy about a single woman dealing with the fact that her friends are coupling off. It is produced by ABC Studios and Mark Gordon Co.
