LONDON — ITV Studios Global Entertainment has inked a raft of programming deals totaling more than 500 hours with digital platforms and TV broadcasters across China and Thailand.
ITV Studios has signed a multi-year drama output deal with Tencent, an internet service provider in China. The distrib will provide more than 100 hours a year of its drama content, including titles such as “Dancing on the Edge,” “Endeavour,” “Murdoch Mysteries” and “Miranda.”
Chinese VOD service Sohu has acquired U.S. drama “Rectify.”
Also in China, ITV Studios has inked a multi-year output deal with Shanghai Media Group, which sees the broadcaster acquiring 120 hours of programming a year across a range of genres to air on International Channel Shanghai. Titles include “Cook Me the Money,” “Hell’s Kitchen USA,” “60 Minute Makeover UK” and “Dancing on Ice UK.”
In Thailand, ITV Studios has closed a deal with pay TV broadcaster Next Step for 300 hours of factual and nature programming, such as “Too Cute!,” “Desert Seas” and “Big, Bigger, Biggest.”
