“Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” is colliding with another geek fandom.

“Xena: Warrior Princess” star Lucy Lawless is joining the ABC comicbook-inspired show for season two. A rep for the show confirmed that she will guest star in an upcoming episode, though they do not have her character name or description at this time.

The lack of info is no surprise, as Marvel often keeps such information under wraps for some time.

Along with playing the titular character in ’90s fantasy series “Xena,” Lawless also had roles on “Spartacus,” “Battlestar Galactica” and “Parks and Recreation.”

“Agent of SHIELD” returns to ABC on Tuesday, Sept. 23. TVGuide.com first broke the news of Lawless joining the show.

Great news. I hope Lucy Lawless is playing an awesome comic book character like Carol Danvers, Abigail Brand, The Contessa or Madame Hydra. Lucy Lawless definitely has the looks and the talent to do justice to any number of high profile characters from the Marvel universe.

  5. Fre says:

Really warmed up to the show. And it does a good time tying in to the last Capt. America.
If interested at all, take it for a spin, it really comes into it’s own as each episode unfolded.
