‘Louie’ to Return in May After 19-Month Hiatus

'Louie' to Return in May After

After a 19-month hiatus, FX’s Emmy-winning show “Louie” will return on May 5 for a fourth season.

The net will air two new back-to-back episodes every Monday for seven weeks. FX originally ordered 13 eps for the show’s grand return, but creator-star-writer-director-exec producer Louis C.K. surprised with a bonus 14th episode.

FX Network’s CEO John Landgraf said the show’s lengthy break has only improved its quality.

“Louis said he needed extra time between seasons three and four of his show because – even though Louie was the most critically acclaimed television comedy series in America – he needed to make it even better,” Landgraf said in a statement. “Based on the first three episodes we’ve seen, remarkably, he accomplished his goal.”
