‘Louie’ Renewed for Season 5

"Louie" Season Five TV Review on

FX has renewed “Louie” for season five, the network announced Monday at their Television Critics Assn. summer presentation. The show will return with seven new episodes in Spring 2015.

“Louie’s fourth season was once again groundbreaking. Sometimes hilarious, sometimes heartbreaking — always thought provoking,” said John Landgraf, CEO, FX Networks & FX Productions. “The show went to narrative and cinematic places no comedy has gone before and we look forward to seeing what Louis comes up with next.”

“Louie” is nominated for five Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Comedy Series, Lead Actor Comedy (C.K.), Writing, Directing and Casting for a Comedy Series.

Louis C.K., M. Blair Breard and Dave Becky are Executive Producers. The series is produced by FX Productions.

FX also renewed freshman drama “Fargo” for a second season at their TCA presentation.

I bet it’ll be half and half, giving them enough time to deliver really good material. I’d rather way for quality than have it get rushed for quantity.

  2. Pete says:

louie is the best show on television, why only 7 new episodes next year? season 4 had twice as many episodes… it seems unfair to cut them in half… is the network punishing the show for not doing good? man what a let down, ive got to wait a whole year for new episodes and were only getting 7 :(

  3. Jake says:

    7 Episodes? What? WHY?!

    • Chris says:

I was bummed at first too, but when you think about it; CK had almost 2 years to work on season 4. Now he only has half a year to make season 5 (Since it’s supposed to come out in spring, and summers almost over). Also, personally season 4 was miles beyond practically anything I’ve seen on TV (even compared to the other seasons, season 4 was Louie in its cinematic prime), it’s gonna be hard to top (or even come close to) that.

I am a guy who is sitting here….watching
